Required checkups before installation
- Verify that the maximum amperage of the main circuit breaker complies with the parameters of the heater.
- Ensure that the power rating (kW) of the heater matches the cubic size (m3) of the steam room. In case there are uninsulated walls made of bricks, tiles, glass or logs in the steam room, additional volume of 1.5 m3 per each such square meter of the wall should be added to the cubic size of the steam room.
- The minimum safety distance from the ceiling and the walls of the steam room that apply to the positioning of the CORE electric sauna heater are presented in Table 1.
Installation of the sauna heater
When positioning the heater, ensure that there is a safe clearance between flammable materials and external surfaces of the heater.
- When choosing a suitable location, ensure that you can conveniently throw water on sauna stones when sitting on the sauna bench.
- Observe that the location of the heater would not create hazardous situations during its use. Make sure that people would not have to pass too closely by the hot heater.
- Table 1 gives an overview of the minimal safety distance that should remain between the heater and the ceiling and the walls of the steam room.
- Power cable inlets are located on the bottom of the heater.
- Mount the supplied adjustable legs (4 pcs) below the heater.
Table 1
- Important! Unfinished CORE electric sauna heater requires furnishing.
- Important! Furnished sauna heater is heavy and hard to move to make the necessary electrical connections. Connect the necessary wires on the underside of the heater and verify the proper functioning of the sauna heater before installing the furnishing and attaching the slats.
Connecting the sauna heater to the power supply
Only a certified electrician may connect the heater to the power supply.
- A rubber insulated SIHF-JB cable or an equivalent cable must be used as the connection cable. It is forbidden to use a PVC insulated non-heat-resistant cable as the power cable of the heater.
- The junction box must be waterproof and located up to 50 cm from the floor.
- It is recommendable to connect the unit to the mains power supply without an earth leakage circuit breaker.
- The cross-sectional area of the cable and maximum amperage of the circuit breaker are provided in Table 2.
Tabel 2 | Power rating (kW) | Heating elements (kW) | Circuit breaker (A) | Power cable (N x mm²) |
---|---|---|---|---|
CORE 6 | 6 | 2 | 3 x 10 | 5 x 1,5 |
CORE 9 | 9 | 3 | 3 x 16 | 5 x 2,5 |
CORE 11 | 10,5 | 3,5 | 3 x 16 | 5 x 2,5 |
- Open the cover of the heater’s electrical box.
- Connect the power cable with the terminal board as shown on the circuit diagram.
- Close the cover.
- Fix the cable to the output part with a cable strap.
Sauna stones
- Sauna stones with a diameter of 5–10 cm are suitable for CORE electric sauna heaters. It is recommendable to use round sauna stones in HUUM sauna heaters. Round stones complement the design of the heaters and provide milder steam. Our product range includes round olivine diabase sauna stones and are sold in packs weighing 15 kg.
- Of course, sauna rocks from other manufacturers may be used in HUUM sauna heaters, but in such case it is recommendable to choose stones that are specifically meant to be used in sauna heaters and to avoid decorative stones as those might break easily.
Quantity of sauna stones
- CORE electric sauna heater requires 30 kg of sauna stones with a diameter of 5–10 cm.
- Refer to information on how to arrange sauna stones correctly.
Installation of CORE electric sauna heater furnishing
Mounting the horizontal furnishing and the plate
The instructions below are recommended and are intended for attaching timber or slab from horizontal wooden slats to the CORE electric sauna heater.
- Consult with a specialist to ensure that proper restrainers and tools are used.
- Verify that the intended furnishing material of the sauna heater can be used in a steam room. When necessary, consult with an expert.
- Weight of one furnished side panel of the heater should not exceed 20 kg.
1. Prepare the shields (4 pcs)
a) Attaching the wood panel to the metal shield
Choose the right screws to secure the finish. The maximum diameter of the screw is 4.2 mm. If necessary, consult an expert.
b) Corner shields
At this stage, we recommend attaching the corner moldings to the two shield moldings.
2. Attach the prefabricated side panels to the heater
Make sure that there is a minimum air gap of 25 mm under the heater.
3. Place the cover strips on the heater and fasten them with M4,2×9,5 screws (16 screws included).
