Lindeborgs Eco Retreat - Sweden

Lindeborgs Eco Retreat is probably the world’s first CO2 negative hotel, conference and retreat in its own operation. It is situated about 1.5 hours from Stockholm, away from city life and surrounded by nature. In this enchanting place our HIVE heater has found itself a home in an interior that could easily be described with the words Nordic design. Natural materials, clean lines, simple elegance, big windows that capture the light and open the view on green landscapes – this truly is Nordic sauna at its best.

Cabin Efjord - Nordland, Norway

Cabin Efjord, with award-winning design by Snorre Stinessen, is a second home to a Norwegian couple, who wished for a cottage that would feel like a part of nature. The external walls are almost entirely made of glass, opening up panoramic views on mountains and fiords. This way nature can play the leading role also in the interior. The same approach is used in the sauna where a nice open view on the surroundings can be enjoyed through a big glass wall. The building is positioned in a way that allows different functions to work in tune with the movement of the sun.

Red Hot Sauna - New York

A retired New York fire rescue truck found a new purpose after it was transformed into a sauna on wheels to share Estonian sauna culture with the American public. To convert the truck into a sauna, the insides were stripped, insulation and ventilation added and Spanish Cedar boards installed. In the heart of the sauna a HUUM wood-burning stove was installed. Now Red Hot Sauna can be seen around at different events and also booked for private use.

What is best for your sauna?

The volume and structures of the sauna affect the selection of heater power. The power requirement increases if there are window surfaces or heat-storing surfaces such as brick, concrete or massive logs in the sauna.
Dimensions of sauna (m)
Multiply the height by the width and the length in meters.
Do you have a glass door?

Non-insulated walls (m )2
In case there are any uninsulated brick, tile, glass or log walls in the sauna room, an additional volume of 1.5 m³ for each m² of such wall should be added to the sauna room size calculation.
